This is the second-longest running tournament in LPGA history, surpassed only by the U.S. Women's Open. Held at DuPont County Club in Wilmington, Del., it began in 1955 and boasts many golf legends, including Louise Suggs, Betsy King and Juli Inkster among its winners.
Named after the first thoroughbred horse brought to America the name truly signifies the strength of this layout. Bulle Rock is considered the top ranked public course in the state of Maryland and one of the best public course in the nation. It broke out of the pack as the destination golf course in the Middle Atlantic region. Set on 235 acres this is a great layout with eighteen very different golf holes. It has a superb flow and a wonderful mix of long and short holes. Each hole is a masterpiece of its own and the course routing lends a feeling of being on the golf course by yourself.
Every major golf publication you recognize including Golf Digest, Golf Magazine, Golf Week, Washington Golf Monthly, Golf for Women and others have poured honors and accolades on this Pete Dye designed course. Bulle Rock has twice been honored as one of only twelve “Five Star Facilities” by Golf Digest.
